Ne'Vaeh's Checklist

Walking by Faith With Ne’Vaeh is a 501(c)(3) organization that was established by Louis and Mattie Littleton in honor of their nine-year-old son Ne’Vaeh. Their child was diagnosed on April 22, 2013 with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare tumor located on the brain stem. It is difficult to treat, and surgery is not an option.
According to statistics, the survival rate for DIPG is 9-12 months
.

Faith and Wisdom

After Ne’Vaeh was diagnosed, he underwent six weeks of radiation along with chemotherapy for the rest of his time on earth. Ne'Vaeh's tumor had shrunk during the first treatment but started growing back in March 2014. With this heartbreaking news, his parents decided to tell him everything about his case.

Strength

Ne’Vaeh’s parents explained to their son the differences between cremation and burial. He asked to be cremated and stuffed inside a teddy bear so they can carry him with them. Ne’Vaeh also asked for balloons to be released and his favorite colors to be worn during his funeral.

On May 23, 2014 at 3:17 PM, Ne’Vaeh gained his wings. A week later, the hospice nurse came over to deliver a gift from him to his parents. It was Ne’Vaeh’s voice recording which he wanted to be placed inside the bear. Ne’Vaeh also left a to-do list for his parents to carry out.

Ne'Vaeh's Wish

Ne'Vaeh's parents work hard to complete everything on their son's checklist. One of his wishes is for them to raise awareness about the disease (DIPG) and to support families
